“When You Pray: A Clear Path to a Deeper Relationship with God”

8-week series; February 20 – April 10

We know prayer is important yet we still find it challenging. It can be hard to find time, and we might even be unsure what to do when we pray. Those challenges can lead to discouragement, but Lent offers the opportunity to take a deeper dive into this vital component of our faith.

Surprisingly, many of our greatest saints struggled in prayer, so we are not alone! They were like us, but each time they fell, they got up again and learned to rely even more on God’s grace.

This video-based study, filmed on location in Italy, explores what God did in the lives of countless saints, and what he wants to do in the lives of ordinary people like us. Join us this Lent on a journey of prayer that will lead us to a deeper relationship with our loving Savior.

The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation

Reading the Bible should bring us closer to Christ, but understanding it is often difficult. The good news is that you can understand the Bible with this 24-part study. Jeff Cavins shows you how 14 of the Bible’s narrative books tell the story from beginning to end and gives you the keys to understanding the amazing story woven throughout Scripture. You will learn the story of our faith through group discussion and a video presentation.

The Bible Timeline will be offered on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm in room 106 beginning August 20, 2024. For more information, please pick up an information flyer and registration form on the table in the Narthex.

Matthew: The King and His Kingdom

The Gospel of Matthew brings the history of Christ to life. We see Jesus as the awaited Messiah who fulfills the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament, establishes the New Law, and inaugurates the kingdom of heaven. Matthew: The King and His Kingdom, a 24-part study (meets weekly), explores how Jesus is challenging and empowering us to a new level of holiness and shows how we must be thoroughly immersed in the kingdom of heaven on earth, the Church.

Matthew: The King and His Kingdom will be meeting on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 in room 104 beginning August 20 OR Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in room 104 beginning August 21. For more information, please pick up an information flyer and registration form on the table in the Narthex.

"That Man is You" is continuing on January 18, 2025

Do you ever feel alone in your faith, wonder whether the world is going in the wrong direction, afraid for your children, struggle with sin or addiction, or feel you have no place to turn? "That Man is You" is a Catholic Men's program that can help you be a better husband, father, grandfather, co-worker, and Catholic. It is a once-a-week reset of your priorities and re-alignment of your attitude which can make the rest of the things you face easier to handle.

The program began at COTN last September, and has been well-attended and well-received. We will resume January 18th with 13 weeks in the spring. You don't have to go to each session, but once you go a few times, you will see benefits in your own life and won't want to miss a week.

The program is 90 minutes long, starting at 7:00 AM sharp on Saturdays, beginning with 30 minutes of fellowship and conversation with brother parishioners, a 30 minute video about relevant topics, and 30 minutes of small group discussion. You will be done before most people wake up on Saturday, so you won't miss any other family obligations or weekend events.
