Catholic Church of the Nativity

Our Mission

As parishioners of the Catholic Church of the Nativity, we are committed to carrying out the mission of Christ by:

• Proclaiming the Word of God

• Celebrating the mysteries of the faith

• Growing in the knowledge and the living of the faith

…while loving and serving our neighbors and growing together in holiness as members of the Body of Christ.

Our Story

The Catholic Church of the Nativity was founded as a parish of the Diocese of Nashville and is a vibrant community that dates back to 2008. For over nine years, our church has been ministering to the needs of Spring Hill and Thompson Station as a part of the Diocese of Nashville. Father John Kirk has been our leader and priest from the beginning.

Our church today is an active community comprised of approximately 700 households. Led by a dedicated pastor and strong corps of lay leaders and volunteers, there is an increasing number of ways that people of all ages can participate in the spiritual, educational, social and service ministries of our church. All are welcome!

Our Priest and Deacons

Fr. John Kirk

Fr. John Kirk, a native of Knoxville, TN, was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Nashville in 1970. Previously, he served with Father Arnold at St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin for four years and then as the Administrator of St. Philip for one year. During that time, Fr. Kirk was traveling to the Spring Hill /Thompson Station area and noticed the growth that was taking place. He headed up a RE-MEMBER-ING campaign which included a survey for those in this area. When the surveys were returned there were over 400 responses that asked for a parish in the Spring Hill/Thompson Station community. That information was taken to Bishop David Choby and in June 2008, he assigned Father Kirk the task of creating a new parish to serve the Catholic community of Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station.
